RE: WHAT IF THE THIEF FORMATS THE HARD DRIVE?

Well, anything that is on the market aimed at amateur thief.
There is no cure against professionals in most cases, weather it would be a laptop, car or anything else.
In nine out of ten cases laptops stolen for a quick buck and sold almost on the spot. New owner usually do not have installation CDs to reformat hard drive (s) and he/she will try to use your Mac ASAP.

If network is available - you have guessed it, information will be sent to you about your Mac's new location with pictures.

If network is password protected and thief enters the WEP password - the outcome is the same, you'll get location information and pictures.
What if the thief formats the hard drive?

This sounds like a great programme. If I was a thief though, I would have to wipe the hard drive anyway in order to erase the information of the rightful owner, before I could turn it into money. I presume that your application does not work, if somebody performs a disk formating and erases all data on the machine, right?!
