Enable/Disable your MaxOS X Dashboard with one click.
If you are running memory/resources intensive application - you would want to disable as many non-essential programs and background applications as possible.
One of those applications is MacOS X Tiger and Leopard Dashboard.
You could open a terminal and type:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES
and restart the Dock by
killall Dock
And if you need to enable Dashboard later on - you could use the same Terminal to enable Dashboard again:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO
and restart the Dock by
killall Dock
Instead you could download a "Dash Enabler" put it in your Application folder and drop a copy to the Dock. With one click it will Enable or Disable your Dashboard for you. No need to open terminal and type anything.
